Able Rides – Waiver transportation option
Our team at Able Transport Solutions helps people get where they need to go. We use a combination of transportation solutions to make individualized rides possible, starting with Able Rides. Able Rides is our primary program where we use our own vehicles and highly skilled drivers to serve you directly. This can include both community engagement rides like going to church or running errands, as well as scheduled rides for medical/health related appointments.
With Able Rides we provide transportation services to seniors, people with disabilities as well others who are medically fragile in different areas of the Twin Cities Metro counties and surrounding towns using our in-house drivers and vehicles. We maintain a small fleet of State Certified Special Transportation Services vehicles, both regular and wheelchair accessible that we use to support people directly. Able Rides is typically paid for using waiver transportation funds (approved through a case manager), insurance companies as well as private individuals. We are willing to work with different types of providers to make access to transportation a reality to those who seek our services. All our drivers have clean background records, received First Aid training and have experience supporting people in the community. We exist to serve those who need our services, and it shows.

Other Transportation Solutions
In addition to providing rides ourselves, we can organize rides to work or to other community activities using a taxi, cab, bus, or ride sharing apps like Lyft and Uber. We help keep track of the services we provide and will be able to accept different payment types including direct payments from the person using the service, insurance companies, and Minnesota waiver programs (AC, BI, CAC, CADI, DD and EW). We always put the person’s needs and safety first, and we work carefully to find solutions to any problems that may arise in the process of using transportation or billing for services we have provided.
As much as possible, the transportation solutions we plan are designed to fit the person’s unique needs, including considerations for who the payor is and their rules and regulations. We work closely with care coordinators and case managers from different agencies, insurance companies, as well as different transportation providers to plan your schedule for the rides you need. We arrange transportation for Non-Emergency needs using an ADA-compliant wheelchair-accessible vehicle.

Training Coordination
We can train you on using different technologies to access transportation or, if needed, help with scheduling rides on your behalf by taxi/cab services or ride-sharing transportation options like Lyft and Uber. Usually, this service is paid for by the person taking rides or their families or by Minnesota Medical Assistance Waiver Programs (AC, BI, CAC, CADI, DD, and EW). (This service is also known as pass-through service).
